Terms of Service

The agreement for using standard-dev.com and StandardOS. Written in plain language, and it applies to you as soon as you use the service.

Last updated 26 September 2026

Who this agreement is between

These terms are between you, and the business you represent, and Standard Deviation ("we"). They cover standard-dev.com, StandardOS at app.standard-dev.com and the tools around them. If you have a signed statement of work or order with us, that document wins where the two conflict.

Accounts

You must be 18 or older and give us accurate information. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you agree to tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it.

Connected accounts

When you connect a Meta, Google or other platform account, you confirm that you have authority over that account and permission to let StandardOS access it, and you agree to that platform's own terms. StandardOS reads data from connected accounts and, only when you direct it, makes changes such as creating campaigns or adjusting settings. You review and approve spend and changes; the platform bills you directly for any media. You can disconnect an account at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful, or for campaigns that break advertising law or platform policies such as Meta's Advertising Standards and Google Ads policies. Do not try to break, overload, reverse engineer or scrape the service, and do not resell it without a written agreement with us.

Your content and data

You own your content and your data. You give us the rights we need to store, process and display them in order to run the service and act on your instructions. We own StandardOS, including its agents, workflows, designs and code. If you send us feedback, we can use it without obligation. Personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy.

AI output

StandardOS produces analyses, plans and creative with AI. Output can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation. Review it before you rely on it, publish it or spend against it. You are responsible for the output you choose to use, including its compliance with advertising law and platform rules. We do not guarantee results, rankings, performance or savings.

Fees

Free features stay free until we say otherwise. Paid work and subscriptions are priced in a separate order or agreement, plus applicable taxes. Unless that agreement says so, fees are not refunded for partial periods.

Changes and availability

We may change, suspend or retire features, and we will give notice where we reasonably can. The service depends on third-party platforms that can change or withdraw access outside our control, and we are not responsible for downtime that causes.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or wasted advertising spend. Our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in that period and 100 US dollars.

Your responsibility for claims

You will cover claims, losses and reasonable legal costs that arise from your content, your campaigns, or your breach of these terms or of a platform's rules.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see Data deletion). We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or create legal risk, and otherwise with 30 days' notice. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, disclaimers and limits on liability, survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes are heard in the state or federal courts in New York County, and either side may use small claims court where it applies.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Using the service after that date means you accept the change. If a change is material, account holders get an email.
